Matt McKean, MD

Dr. McKean was born and raised in Mobile and graduated from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School. He received his undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences from Auburn University and his medical degree from The University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. Following medical school, he completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at The University of Mississippi Medical Center. He then went on to complete a year-long fellowship in advanced orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery at Washington University in St. Louis.
As a board-certified surgeon with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. McKean specializes in managing orthopaedic related conditions affecting the lower extremity, especially the knee, foot, and ankle. His fellowship training involved all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, from sports-related injuries and fracture management to complex reconstructive surgery, including total ankle replacements.
In his free time, Dr. McKean enjoys spending time with his wife, Barclay, and three sons, Bender, Walker and Turner. He also enjoys boating, playing golf, and following college sports.
